VGHM named as one of the most beautiful Zagreb Museums
ZAGREB, October 24, 2025 – The Video Game History Museum, winner of the prestigious Zagreb Design Week Award 2025 for spatial design, celebrated this major recognition by hosting an event attended by public figures and influencers. The award crowns months of dedicated work, confirming that the museum’s aesthetically thoughtful space and innovative curatorial approach have been recognized by design professionals and the wider public alike.
An international jury of Zagreb Design Week recently awarded the Video Game History Museum in the category “Space Design” for the best museum interior, competing against 17 projects in interior and exterior design. The interior and exhibition design of the Museum was created by Clinica Studio, a team specializing in public and exhibition spaces, artistic installations, and museum exhibitions with a focus on immersive and interactive experiences.
“The museum’s permanent exhibition was conceived as a linear spatial narrative that chronologically follows the evolution of video games, with each era defined by its own color palette, lighting, music, and graphic elements. This creates a dialogue between past and present across multiple senses,”
explains Vedran Kasap from Clinica Studio.
Special attention was given to interactivity and the overall visitor experience — guests can try out many original arcade machines and consoles, as well as contemporary installations developed exclusively for the museum.
Damir Ĺ logar, founder and curator of the Museum, adds:
“We wanted to evoke both nostalgia and curiosity. Some visitors relive their childhood here, while others discover how games became what they are today. With Clinica Studio’s excellent design solutions, we managed to present video games as a cultural phenomenon that connects generations.”
The award ceremony turned into a festive celebration attended by Pamela Ramljak, Antonija Stupar Jurkin, influencers Gloria Berger, Ana Zibar, Ivana Marketin, and gamers Igor Belan, Marko Kofs, Anril, and BloodMaster, among others. In a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere, guests explored the museum’s collection of more than 3,000 exhibits, many of which are rare and valuable.
The teenage rooms, authentically styled to reflect the aesthetics of different decades, served as a kind of time portal guiding visitors through four decades of video game history. One of the evening’s highlights was a friendly competition on the world’s largest Pac-Man, along with other playable classics from the museum’s permanent collection.
In just a few months since opening, the Zagreb Video Game History Museum has become an essential city attraction — confirmed by hundreds of glowing visitor reviews (currently 5.0 rating) on Google and TripAdvisor. The museum continues to expand its program with upcoming guest lectures and a new exhibition dedicated to the pioneers of Croatia’s video game scene, scheduled for early next year. With its growing lineup of events and exhibits, the museum continues to offer a unique experience that blends education and entertainment for all generations.
